Mami Kawada (known also as MAMI, sometimes addressed by her fans as Mami-Mami) is much known for her songs in Onegai Teacher, Onegai Twins, Shakugan no Shana and other animes. With a great talent for singing, Eiko Shimamiya, who was already a member of I've Sound, recruited her into the music production. Before entering into the anime industry, she first performed several theme songs for eroge/H-games and her first task was to perform the theme song for the eroge miss you entitled Kaze to Kimi wo Daite. Then at 2002, she began performing theme songs for anime with co-I've member KOTOKO which started her first career in the anime industry. Not much of a success at first until on February 23, 2005 she was able to release her first maxi single entitled radiance which was used as the opening theme for the anime series Starship Operators. Kawada's popularity arose more when she released her second maxi single entitled Hishoku no Sora which was used as the opening theme for Shakugan no Shana. At that time, she began to writing her own songs.
